Hydrocolloid Wound Dressing Ultra Thin (Self-Adhesive)

Hydrocolloid dressing is a special kind of wound dressing used in the treatment of mildly exuding wounds, like minor burns or bed sores. These dressings are waterproof, and unlike simpler dressings, they provide a moist and insulating environment to promote wound healing.

The inner layer contains gel-forming agents (hydrocolloid particles) including carboxymethylcellulose, gelatin, and pectin. This layer absorbs exudate while maintaining a moist healing environment, which allows for faster healing and reduced scar formation.

The outer layer is made of waterproof polyurethane film, shielding the wound from bacteria and debris. These dressings can be left in place for up to a week, reducing the frequency of changes. Removal is mostly painless, as it does not adhere directly to the wound bed.

• Cleanse the wound with appropriate wound cleanser. Dry the periwound skin.
• Choose a dressing large enough to cover the wound with a 2cm overlap.
• Remove the backing paper to expose the adhesive surface.
• Center the dressing over the wound, press from the center outward, and hold for 30 seconds.
